Briefly about the Bear Lake
If you visit the Salt Country, you should not miss bathing in the Bear Lake of Sovata. The Bear Lake of Sovata got its name after its shape, allegedly resembling a stretched bear skin.
The warm saltwater lake lies in a beautiful location. There used to be a meadow in this place before, which suddenly collapsed in 1875 and was filled by local streams and a hot spring. Because of its freshwater tributaries, the surface layers of the Bear Lake are not too saline (about 2.5%), but is noticeably easier to stay afloat than in Lake Balaton. At a depth of 3 meters, the salinity of the lake is already 28%, which is exactly one percent higher than that of the Dead Sea. What is more, the water contains 31% salt (310g/l) in the deepest point of the lake!
About the Csáki Pension
The Csáki House, expecting its esteemed guests in a family atmosphere, is situated in a quiet environment a 15-minute walk away from the Bear Lake. The capacity of the house is 21 persons in double, triple, quadruple or, for large families, even 5-bed rooms. The rooms have private lavatory, shower room and TV set. Besides conversations, the downstairs lounge can also be used as a small conference room. In addition, there are two well-equipped kitchens, a dining room and a small bar at the disposal of tourists. Parking possibility, small yard with outdoor oven, table tennis, etc.
