The family run Apát Pension and Restaurant is located in the charming hilly environment of Őrségi National Park in Western Hungary, in a small village called Apátistvánfalva, 10 kilometers from the Austiran and 3 kilometers from the Slovenian border. The nearest town is Szentgotthárd. Due to the closeness of the Alps this region has its own nature and healthy climatic environment. The entire territory is under strict natural protection.

The surroundings give special opportunity of various sports such as hiking, nordic walking, cycling. Bikes, nordic walking equipment and maps can be rented in our hotel. Near our location You have the chance for horseback riding and visiting the Lake Hársas with fishing and swimming possibilities.

Our massage and sauna service provides real relacation after doing some sports.

Apát Restaurant

Our kitcen wroks with local flavours and materials form which our Chef creates local, and international meals as well. In our forests there are different kinds of delicious mushrooms which are essential parts of our seasoning.

On our Menu You will find seasonal meals such as "Tökös-mákos rétes" (Strudel filled with pumpkin and poppy seed) and "Kerekrépa" (a special kind of carrott). This region has big pumpkin festival in every October.

We reccommend "tökmagolaj" (pumpkin-seed oil)to our male quests, which has positive effect on "male virility". For those who require special culinary experience we suggest to taste our goat cheese meals.

From the ingredients of the Menu, with the help of our Chef, everyone can create the best meal for his/her taste.
